popeyes fried chickenFried Chicken recipes has always been a favorite of the South. Try this simple but delicious recipe for Popeyes Fried Chicken. Be sure to be careful working around the hot oil though. Enjoy!

Use these ingredients for Popeye’s Fried Chicken Recipe :

1 skinless chicken, cut into pieces
6 cups vegetable oil
2 tablespoons white pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 / 3 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoons paprika
1 tablespoon salt
3 eggs

Heat oil over medium-high heat in a deep fryer or large deep saucepan on the stove. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper and paprika. Break the eggs into a bowl and beat until well blended.

Next dip each piece of chicken in egg, then coat generously and evenly with flour mixture. Do not be shy.

Next set the chicken aside and let it dry for about half an hour. Drying will help brown the chicken more evenly. To fry, heat the oil in a heavy skillet on a burner on medium-high heat until oil is very hot. Place chicken pieces in hot oil, skin side down, one piece at a time. Leave enough space between the pieces so they are not crowded. This allows parts to cook and brown evenly. Check if the oil is ready. You can do this by dropping a little flour in the oil, the oil bubbles rapidly then it is ready. When ready, start cooking the chicken until sides are golden brown and meat is cooked. When the pieces are done, set aside on a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Serve hot with corn, mashed potatoes and gravy.
